About Rijeka Crnojevica
A Rich History
Rijeka Crnojevica served as the seat of the Crnojevic dynasty in the 15th century, making it one of the oldest royal capitals in the region. The famous Old Bridge (Stari Most), built during Ivan Crnojevic's reign, still stands as the village's iconic landmark. In 1493, the first printing press in the Balkans — the Obod printing house — operated here, producing the first South Slavic book.

Natural Beauty
The village sits at the point where the Crnojevica River meets Skadar Lake, surrounded by dramatic karst mountains. The meandering river, flanked by lush vegetation, creates one of the most photographed scenes in Montenegro. In summer, the lake's surface is covered with water lilies, creating a magical landscape.
