Everything for planning

The horseshoe bend of the river seen from above at Pavlova Strana, with green hills and the lake behind

Getting there

The village is a short drive from Cetinje and Podgorica, but there is no direct bus. Here is how to get here and where to leave the car.

Aerial view down the river valley: a small boat leaves a white wake between reeds and lily beds

National park

The village sits inside a protected landscape: a national park, a Ramsar wetland and, since 2026, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Here is what that means for your visit.

A swan on high winter water, with bare trees standing in the flooded river

When to visit

We suggest spring and autumn. Summer is busy and hot, and in winter the water can rise fast.

The village square in autumn: stone paving, a white two-storey building, the Montenegrin flag and a fishing boat on land, with a rocky hillside behind
