Work is planned on the 8 km road between Rijeka Crnojevića and Donji Ulići. The mayor says it will start “soon”, but no date has been confirmed.
In Rijeka Crnojevića, roads have shaped village life. In 1982 the main Titograd–Cetinje road stopped running through the village, and sources date its decline from that change. You can read more in the twentieth century. So any news about roads matters here.
The project covers the road between Rijeka Crnojevića and Donji Ulići. The road is about 8 km long, and the work is valued at about €9.4 million. The sources we used do not say exactly what the work will include. They also do not say who will do the work or how long it will take.
The job went to tender in July 2025. A tender is the step where building companies bid to do the work.
On 15 September 2026, the mayor of Cetinje said that work will start “soon”, RTCG reported. We have not found a confirmed start date, so expect delays.
Until work begins, nothing changes on this road. Once it starts, allow extra time for your journey.
If you are driving in, check the latest news before you set off. The village is about 16–17 km from Cetinje, about 30 km from Podgorica and about 25 km from Virpazar. There is no direct bus: take a bus to Cetinje or Podgorica, then a taxi. For routes and parking, see getting there. Parking is free at the village entrance. In July and August, try to arrive before 11:00.
Do you live along this road? When you see the works begin, please let us know and we will update this post. You can follow other local projects in projects and news.
